Wellington, NZ: a Travel Guide
Let's talk about the artsy little city on the edge of New Zealand's North Island!
Simply put, Wellington is a delight. Cafes abound; it’s walkable; the food scene is stellar; surrounding water and mountains make the city completely picturesque; and the atmosphere is fun. Have I convinced you to book a flight to Wellington yet? In my opinion, no trip to New Zealand is complete without a stop here.
So how long should you spend in Wellington? I recommend at least two full days. Three would be nice too, especially if you plan to take advantage of the nearby wineries and other day trips outside of the city. If you’re taking a few weeks and doing a popular road trip down New Zealand, definitely prioritize Wellington as one of your longer stops and spend at least two nights here.
Where to get coffee? Thank goodness the options are almost endless! Kiwis sure do love their cafe scene, and Wellington is no exception. There are dozens of cafes in the city center alone. In what some may consider a controversial move, I’m going to narrow down the options for you and recommend just one coffee shop in Wellington.
